i get a blank white page that says with black small text " gypsy.perilith.com " when i go to http://wiki.polycount.com/ maybe the internet censorship iron curtain in germany came down a bit more just now ?! can somebody from germany confirm that we still have access to that site ?!
Ok so , I found a rig that came with a class I took in the gnomon workshop. He sorta looks like a LoL character, so I'm going to use him. I like his proportions. I'm just going to dig around and confirm that I can actually use this for the contest.
Woah, the AO (or height) can be packed in G for the standard shader? I've never read this anywhere! Is there a reference on the unity manual that confirms this, or was this discovered by digging the the source files? I always thought it was incredibly wasteful to only use 2/4 channels in a texture, at least using 3/4 is a…
That only makes complete sense lol. I've got a decent foundation in SketchUp and I'm making progress in learning Blender and I have Autodesk123D but haven't touched it yet. Willing to get what's needed and put the time in to learn it though. No scanner yet either wanted to confirm it could be done first.
Hey Marks, I applied for the Character Art Trainee position a while back, any idea if that has been filled? The site still has it listed, but also says that positions would be confirmed by July. The fact it took a while for you to hear back makes me not totally abandon hope, hehe.
I think will show up when my billing and tax information is confirmed by Valve, which is a process that might take a while since I'm not an U.S. citizen. Don't worry, based on the answers on the contest questions thread the submission will still be counted in if the tax information verification is the only thing holding it…
To those who think 'official' is somewhat like 'official', I should mentioned that it's really official's distant cousin, 'not official'. As in, Valve's not confirmed it yet. While that's mostly moot at this point, I still got somewhat annoyed at some wanker's blog talking out of its arse to get more hits.
Aargh, I do personal work at home but as I thought, i don't do enough of it :( Animation works take so much time to polish it takes a bit before they accumulate in your folio..still, I shoudnt give any excuse, this market looks tough indeed and thanks for confirming it...
Thanks guys. Ya I'll play with the colors more, or maybe do some more graphical work for it later. I just wanted to get something functional up and running for now. Can anyone confirm that it works ok in IE for them now? (seems to on my end, I'm just paranoid)
Nevermind, a colleague just confirmed my suspicion. It does not translate over, but any additional information on this or if you have any ideas how to achieve more depth without resulting to just modelling the geo as such to better represent depth would be much appreciated. I will continue the research :P
