Is it typical to combine maps into one big map when doing enviroments? For example, if I'm doing a factory scene, and I have a barrel, crate, trash on the ground, etc, is it common to combine those into one big map?
I finished modelling this aircraft and after I finish texturing it im going to build an enviro around it like it crashed in the jungle during the Vietnam war and it will be all rusted and overgrown. I already made a bunch of foliage in UDK.
For vehicles not beeing your comfort zone it still turned out great. Also a bit envious of your character action pose, great idea to use the legs for steering.

Super exited for this! But i must say the enviro art is a little... shit? I mean its just a heightmap with textures. The small sand dune texture is on a flat plane :/ .
Nah. that's how it works for enviros. There are times when there are only few people participating. Depends on concept. I am all in. Not much time because if uni but will try to contribute!
You can always use skecthup for that ! as for max i guess setup your grid ( you need it anyway for modular enviro stuff right ? ) or use a helper such as ruler.
