Long article/interview on the subject of GPG's apparent swan song. Anybody who's in the industry or would like to be ought to give it a read, and maybe a pledge. http://www.pcgamesn.com/indie/wildman-bay-inside-chris-taylors-fight-save-gas-powered-games
Trying to get a few things ironed out in Unreal Engine. just a quick update I may be swapping jobs soon I'm hoping to get a week in between jobs to really work on this. If that doesn't happen I still have my weekends.
QFT I would say that is the #1 thing wrong with this industry. Project Bloat, and hiring a ton a full time, employees getting benefits and all that, then letting them go when the the project is over or hits a snag. I have seen it and I despise it.

One thing that bugs me is the hoses on the sides. You would think this kind of tech would have better protection for those. If it snags something while up at full speed that could end badly, but then again I could be thinking way to technical....

When I use a Cylindrical projection, I rotate it while watching the Edit window, so I can see which faces are being swapped to which side of the seam. When it looks good, stop rotating. Quicker than Break/Stitch...
I can't say I quite understand the cultural controversy but if The Wind Rises was so risky, I could see why Miyazaki held off making it until it was his swan song. I'll hug my Miyazaki collection forever xD
Decided to experiment with a different approach to texturing the models. I swapped out the detailed "painted" look for more of an "animator is rushing through detailing work because he has a dozen more cels he needs to get ready by the end of the day" look.
