I've been really enamored lately by the few images Campo Santo released for In the Valley of the Gods, so I wanted to take a crack at the atmosphere and lighting for my own. Still working on some more handpainted textures but here's what I got so far. Cheers!
hey guys! I'm working on several smaller projects to improve my design and technical skills. This one being, a handpainted weapon in the style of Darksiders! Boring, I know, but a great exercise. I'm a very amateur artist so I would appreciate critique! Thanks guys

Managed to finish one of my King Arthur Artstation challenge props before the deadline, it's not perfect, but i believe its one of my best Handpainted assets to date. More images on my artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/DxK3ER
Amazing light effectss i love it!!! When i see the quality of your handpainted stuff i even feel kinda bad to see those pistol and coins pictures, they dont really blend it, but the overall feeling is still good :)
These look amazing, nice job man! I especially love your handpainted stuff. Are you going to do something with that climbing game or is it more of a proof of concept? It looks awesome, reminds me of a minigame in Mario Party 4
It's not quite the same, but Becca Hallstedt has a mini tutorial about painting wood that might be helpful. It's about painting in terms of 2D concept art, but if you're trying to do a handpainted texture the process is similar. Check it out: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/nAndr

First project completed for 2014 - Started waaay back in the year of 2013. Also squeezed in a small environment thingy in between. A bit less painterly than I hoped. Think Im going for a handpainted weapon or something of the sort next! Cheers!
awsome awsome awsome... so when the tutorials coming out dude? ^^ really like how the normal maps aren't overpowering everything, like its a solid mix between trad. handpainted diff only, and fancier normal map shader business.
