If you head to Autodesk's Area, they have a bunch of tutorials for Softimage. You can find a bunch at http://www.i3dtutorials.com/view/Tutorials too. As for reference models, you should be able to use a mdl decompiler to get the smd, which you can then import.
Mdk thanks! I really killed myself in a short few weeks or maybe a month in july. Indeed this is Andrew's idea for a courrier and he provided me with the concept that Brad did. I did the modelling and texturing and Andrew the animations. But it seems that the release is postponed for now and I am finished with work month…

@AA3D: Thank you very much for your feedback. You got a good point. I can't participate in the discussion (else I might influence the survey), however I should point out the difference between human language and computer input: while terms like "to the back", "a little bit", "over there" are perfectly fine for humans to…
Thanks Mdk! Robo made the avatars for us. I remember someone else having this same problem but I cant find the thread it was in. Im working on an earthshaker totem and im having a scaling issue. For some reason the weapon is slightly larger than it should be and I can tell why. its the same size as the default weapon.
i think your marking menu is fine then. it'S the commands it can't find. maybe we can find out why? ;) where is this mel script(MDL_create..) located? is it your scripts folder or is it embeded in your marking menu?
Mmmhmm what MDK said. I think it needs more organic form, minimize symbolic graphics. Stick back to sword #2 from the left, the hilt with a ring is more suitable! Can't wait to see it done (neon sign flashing behind self with a "#1 KUNKKA FANGIRL" message)
