Regarding the anatomy, it looks a bit like you referenced and stuck together several bodybuilder poses, but the insertion points of the muscles and their directions aren't quite right in some cases, or you didn't bother to define them to begin with, like for the biceps femoris… -

Pretty much echoing what the above posters said, albeit with a bit more tact (im looking at you RJBonner). You definitely need to start off at a lower subdivision and work on the larger forms there. Are you kidding? The reason is that art looks better being based off of practical elements like real world historical armour or swords is because it lends to the suspension of disbelief and makes the art more believable thus invoking a stronger connection to the target audience. It simply looks bad. Had any effort at all… -
