If his completely awful writing wasn't enough, the fact that he pretty clearly has some kind of axe to grind with Riot - and is willing to completely cast aside any pretense of journalistic integrity to pursue it - would close the book. He needs help. Like, comfy couch and notebook help.
I can't speak for Japan but working jointly with China it was frustrating how everything had to be superficial, soap opera beautiful. So many cool monsters got axed because they were too ugly or scary. At one point Chinese designers wrote a zone that had Fairies & Unicorns as the mobs.
Dropping the PA project backwards untill i can decide on it's final form. In the mean time, it's centaur time!! I decided to take the No.1 Silhouette from axe and make it for centaur. I need some help deciding wether it looks good already or if it needs something more. Photo:
That helped sort of... while axis constraints does fix the issue, it limits your movement which is a bit frustrating...in 2010 you could actually drag by the vertices themselves and it would snap correctly and you could move in both axes without having to try to re-adjust based on the gizmo.
Oh and if you're wondering why his hands are up like that, I was imagining him leaning on a sword or battle axe, which I hope to draw up in Photoshop, using this as a template. Just to get some nicer colour concept drawings so I can texture him with reference.
Loving those proportions @daphz. A bow probably wouldn't suit someone with such heavy armour, so I think a couple axes or short-swords would work well. A two-handed weapon such as a long-sword might look a bit too masculine. Keep up the great work folks!
I only voted for heroes with lots of cosmetics, in the hopes that anyone who made cosmetics for those heroes would also have to redesign their sets. And IO. I also hope they give Slardar legs, Zeus a mario hat, and axe a butt. Double butt. No, Bubble butt. Cheers!
Phenomenal work all around! Purple textures with the green-tinted ambiance is absolutely perfect for that level - I can't imagine it looking like anything else! That last axe is brilliant! I didn't get the wolf's head at first, but on second glance, it's awesome once I fully realized what it was :)
You should really check out this thread: http://polycount.com/discussion/107196/youre-making-me-hard-making-sense-of-hard-edges-uvs-normal-maps-and-vertex-counts/p1 Swizzle is the direction of the axes. Like its y+ or -. Also look up "mikk tangent space".
You need to make some of your own training DVDs, Ror. You're a goldmine of sweet tips and handy information, we just need little men with pick axes to harvest the goodies in there! Posts/Threads like yours are what make me (and many others) live at Polycount. -caseyjones
