Wanted to post a quick update... more mesh tweaks and props. I'm over my original budget on props, but he has a lot of them, so I might just say screw it and stay over budget. Still need to make a shield that will probably be alpha based for the main shape. -

Hm didnt play UT for ages but for the map you need good layout, put some top down shoots were are the weapons shields and power ups, I know when creating map good layout comes first then envorment. i did some maps for Q3,Q2 but not for UT -

Just finished my first low poly prop modelling assignment for class this week and thought i'd post it up. I would like the non-FPS version. The combat was dire! From the poor weapon selection and balance, to the use of a regenerating shield, to the lack-luster special powers and the dodgy AI, and the annoying rift mechanics that rarely did much for you but often blocked line of sight to who-ever is shooting at you... -

I wouldn't call it bad, it definately works out fine in the game, feels like it is based around timing alot, since blocking is a big part of it, and enemies will block too, so you're blocking and waiting for the right time to strike. I haven't tried anything but sword/shield combo though. -

thanks for the responses everyone! Really appreciate it. I went ahead with nr 1 and im experimenting with some small additions of colors. The yellow/orange thing is happening. Ill update tomorrow when im back in school. Also made a shield based on a massive black concept which was very cool. -

Appreciate the response @Carabiner. I think I'm going to stick more to the reference, add more snow, and give it more of the blue stormy look. I'm also going to push out the mass a bit more behind the yellow shield and remove the cables on the low poly and just bake it down from my high poly. Thanks again for the critique! -

thanks for clarifying, however the katars design is without the shield or something cover on, well I'm not sure want to let it slip or what , I know the major design and motive is different but this katar on PA is a new idea for me for thought so long when doing my PA concept... well i let others voice out first then...
