It can be trickier as polygroups are based on the topology. If you assigned each group its own polypaint color, you could try projecting that over and then convert it to polygoups.
Does Mari really have much going for it that you wouldn't be able to do in Mudbox or a more robust future update to Zbrush's polypaint with layers/blending modes?
thanks guys! cheers shotgun, I'm using polypaint in zbrush then taking projections through to photoshop for polish, working at 2048, not hardcore enough for 1:1 :E
each subtool inherits the current foreground colour. So when you change it, so will the subtools. There's no real way of preventing this other than filling a subtool with a temporary polypaint colour.
The face of the shoulder look weird with the polypaint. The nose glow looks like a mouth glow to me. The sword could use some gold too, other than that, it looks great.
Hey, it doesn't have to be mudbox ;) I believe zBrush offers the more powerful polypainting tools, I was just using that as an example. Keep it up, this'll turn out great!!!
Yea it's not there yet, but I can't seem to figure out what's off, I toned down the puffiness beneath his lips. Here's a shot without polypaint: and the Ortographic views:
I'm curious. Hack how? Zbrush's polypaint is nothing more than vertex colors. So you should be able to bake that down just fine in Designer by using that option.
