I worked for a quick printer doing paste-up and layout. This was before word or page processing changed the printing biz ... so I pasted type on layout sheets using rubber cement and hot wax. I did that for about 3 months. My next job was writing and illustrating D&D adventures for Judges Guild. Edit: The comparable…
Thank you so much hawken...no, I won't pooh on your idea at all, because in all honesty, coming up with my own zen garden layout is something I knew would be a major hassle! I was gonna just go off of all my reference, but didn't have a solid understanding just yet of what the composition / layout of the garden should be.…
Is it just me or is the new layout half as wide as the old one? personally I enjoyed the fact that the old boards didn't have a background. The threads went from one side of my screen to the other. Now there seems to be a lot of wasted space on the sides. Maybe theres some custom option I'm missing? I'll get used to this…
It's a matter of taste, I suppose, but I prefer a two-tier layout - project image links on the main page leading to images for each project. I just find this makes navigation cleaner and allows me to quickly get to those images that interest me. I also prefer thumbnails that are considerably smaller than the linked image…
I could really use some feedback on my new portfolio; both the site layout and the content. I don't have many options to change the layout since I'm using carbonmade, but I'd still like to get a sense of people's experience with it. If it's overwhelmingly negative I'll move on to something else. As for the content, please…
I really like the layout. If i was a busy Art Director, I would just go to your website and and it will be very very easy for me to see what i need and to navigate around quickly, saving me time. Definitely really good layout, and the work is good too. My only critique pretty much is to perhaps make the letters stand out a…
Thanks for the comments, everyone, I really appreciate the feedback. I got rid of the "Misc/Unfinished" link and I'll get started on improving the layout/navigation right away. Is there anything that looks particularly bad? Anything you think I should rework or just get rid of? Thanks for the example, that is definitely a…
Yes I do. I'm trying to figure out a process that I should use; If I should start with a level layout or make concepts first, blockout geometry next, and then create and design assets to replace the geometry. Would you create models then figure out a level based off them, or would you make a level layout and then figure…
great update to the layout and thumbnails, also the start of some really nice work in there. seconded on the resume and lightboxes though. my computer is a beast and for some reason they lag ffox for me first load. that and I hate them. so again, updated layout is excellent.. oh and rework that dagger/knife thing, it's too…
You're doing some very confusing stuff with the uv layout, why so many seams on the cylindrical peices? Its ok to have a little distortion to avoid these major seams. Your uv layout looks like directions for building one of those paper-cut-out models. Strange choices in regards to detail density, some edges seem randomly…
