Updated lighting with some rim lighting, some is real effecting all things in the scene, some is fake rim lighting. Utilizing channels in to affect certain objects and not others to help bring out certain details forward to the foreground with more light on it. This way I don't contribute to the indirect lighting as much…
Fixing the seam is actually not that complicated. I proceed as follows : * Usually when I'm done processing my texture in Agisoft, I don't have an area with a perfect square that I can just bake. To get around this I just draw a low-poly surface (usually in 3D Coat) This surface doesn't have to be a square at alll, it's…

Sounds like the fault of the OBJ export/import. Does it look correct in Max before export? Also some pics would help tremendously, before and after. "Buggered" is not a very helpful description.
I'd also advise that art is an iterative process. Planning can save some time but if you don't have lots of experience it's hard to predict how a project will go, and that makes planning less useful. For a student project I'd do as Eric suggests and treat it as if it was a one off asset so at least there's art to look at,…
Thanks, but I am still not 100% sure what you guys mean. Each of you gave me a different answer that doesn't make much sense to me. Here is my current UV layout, http://j.imagehost.org/0407/example.jpg (I know I suck) Now what I want to do is seperate the center wood part and bottom of the boat part away from the seam…
Hi Eric, thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to look at this! First, I want to thank you for creating those sample assets - they were invaluable as benchmarks for testing the importer throughout development. It's been great having high-quality reference models to validate against! You're absolutely…
