I suppose it might depend on the engine/exporter, but usually you're not limited to just weighting a model to bone chains. Here's the pistol from Half Life 2 for example: Instead of using bones for deformers, it is weighted to a few curves. Translating the blue box moves the slide, rotating the yellow square box rotates…
Not only are hammer-ons and pull-offs easier to spot than previous games, but they are placed in the songs where the actual guitarist used a HO/PO. Previous games just had them when two notes were really close together, regardless if they were actually accurate. I think it adds a cool element.
defiantly scale up the handle id broaden up the damage on the corners of the hammer too, to hard to read at that texture size if you don't over exaggerate things, im doing this one this weekend myself haha, funny to see others with it too, I think its cool how they set it up. with the 3 parts.
it was originally an animated GIF of the incident with zidane headbutting ... however whoever was hosting that must have realised it was getting hammered due to people hotlinking it, so changed it to an obscene image for fun. i've edited it out now. if anyone wants to upload their own animated gif to their own webspace…
Hammering out more models for the scene, and started on one variation of the wall (this one will only appear once, but smaller variations will be coming). I also got the floor texture in there. Once I flesh out the scene with all the models + texturing the models, I'll start working on Decals that will help break the scene…
Finished up the hummer H2 before GDC and a 24 hour environment. Hummer h2: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118389&page=2 Made this before my flight out to GDC hehe
Like pretty much everyone else has said, awesome looking sword, but feels a bit too War Hammer. Just looks way too heavy. Maybe if you lengthen the blade and handle to make the heavy details in the middle smaller, it will create a lighter blade. Maybe try that? Stretch it out a bit just to see? :)
Looks really cool, but I honestly liked the previous version better; I think it's too light and desaturated currently and some of the white edging is working against the normal-mapped edges (especially on the hammer). Your specular could use some more colour-variation, as well. I'd say it's only a few tweaks before it's…
Commercial artists whose work is used to hammer society into believing that consumerism and a dictated and manipulated personal image is the only acceptable norm are contributing to a shallow and irresponsible cultural climate. But hey it aint easy to make a living from art, commercial or otherwise so because I am in a…
ehhh, if it's made of forged and tempered steel, it's not going to snap... unless you drive a quarry truck over it, and no one wants to whack your axe, they want to whack you. (that doesn't sound right for some reason >_> ) The hammer end of the axe looks a little small though. Maybe turn it into a longer, thin armour…
