i dont really understand that question. but i also dont think such a thing exists, if you wanna work at infinity ward or blizzard or even more stylized companies, the piece you create will not appeal to all of them the same way. No matter how well it is done.
Hi. I would love some Critique/Feedback on the project i am currently working on. I am currently stuck in my progress and don`t know how to take it to the next level. Its handpainted and inspired by the Blizzard world of warcraft style. Thanks in advanced for the feedback!
Hey guys and gals! I finaly got some time to share some of the work that I did for Toys for Bob and Activision Blizzard on the Spyro Reignited Trilogy! I will be adding more work I did to artstation soon. Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/VdNz2P Cheers!
OOOH sorry, I entirely missed that point. I can help. Check out how these companies were made from scratch, solid info there. Square Enix, Ubisoft, Konami,Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai, Activision Blizzard. Good luck on your endeavors!
Wow that was incredibly useful! Yeah I was going for more of a hand painted look, I will definitely look up some metal and glass textures from Blizzard and add some weathering to the metal! Thanks a lot man I appreciate it!
it happened, blizzard is a really good example. Thomas Mahler, now head of Moon Studios on Ori, had little prior experience and didn't finish his studies when he was hired for SC2. Of course those are exceptions, but it does happen.
@Gav Does polycount matter these days ? I mean characters with 25k tris vs 80-100k tris. Of course, if you apply for Blizzard 100k tris characters it doesnt make sense, I mean overall ;) Thanks for the tips!
Like Ryan said guys, money can't be accepted for this. Since Blizzard, Naughty Dog and a few others allowed them to use work and pipeline stuff because this would be free there can't be any money exchanged. Perhaps for future issues. :)
blizzard to a game artist is like microsoft to a programmer. Its at the top of the food chain and everyone is trying to get in so its unlikely. imo, you shouldent shoot for one studio, although it worked for firstkeeper because of hard work and persistance.
Steam offline works well, and many games use different or their own servers for hosting, you'd need to bring down Steam, Blizzard, EA, and LoL to disable online gaming similar to what has been done to the console services.
