It depends what you want. If I wanted the studs to look welded/molded to the surface of that bottom ring and what you are making is a sub D high poly. I would make them floaters. It's not a hassle to cut them in as you have done either but I would have probably used less poly in doing so, making the cylinders just 8… -

Windows 8.1 works fine and is meant for all. Having used both 7 and 8. I prefer 8. It boots faster, works with Multi Monitors easier, shows transfer speed graphs when working with files, USB 3.0 native support, and best? The click ring icon when attempting to use a wacom in a 3d program no longer happens. So I can go back… -
