but tobacco and alcohol cause harm and are addictive... Video games aren't PROVEN to cause harm. It is just assumed based off bias surveys/studies.... Porno is well shouldn't be sold or given to kids at any point...
Does it look like that in another program (to rule out the mesh being the cause)? Does it look like that in the scene? Does it mean to have that sort of wavy surface? Try changing the "Distance Field Bias" or the "Distance Field Resolution Scale"
turtle IS great, but its entirely computed/baked offline - the thing with the cryengine solution is thats its REAL TIME. You really have to see it in action to appreciate how fantastic it is (this isn't bias, it's really REALLY awesome!)
Sounds like you're looking for a procedural-heavy studio. I don't think there's many triple A studios yet that rely heavily on things like that. There's still a lot of bias towards adopting things like that (I'm talking about substance and Houdini).
Yeah its pretty much either changing shadow depth bias or making your terrain out of static meshes that have bUsePrecomputedShadows turned off. I am not aware of any other solution and both obviously have significant tradeoffs.
To my understanding synced normal maps mean that the tangent bias that the normal map baker uses matches the one that the game engine uses. Different programs have different ways of how the lowpoly's normals effect the normal map. Very math'y.
I'm not sure why you're including this since; A) No one every complained about studio abuse, inside or out B) All the complaints are about the game as a product, commercially C) Alot of people pay what they promise, no need for confirmation bias
hard to say, it is really hard to get any information based on fact at all with this> seems all information involving it has a very big bias on it, and cant really be trusted. like in the last video that was linked, parts of it must be outright wrong or exaggerated.
Software? 3ds Max I guess? Check out shadow Bias. http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-4BF878CD-5BD6-4F1A-A20B-8A6BD7D3703B.htm,topicNumber=d30e345541
I dont know Jason Vandenberg but he seems like an awesome dude. I say this without bias I think he won the best presentation on stage at e3. [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvcZzUpF8ZM[/ame]
