I have to disagree, the bake is too soft and screws with the material definition, it looks blobby and plustered. Also the edges are very even across the board regardless of the part, on the reference the edges surely vary from soft to sharp and anything in between. With the soft edges, the metal looks like a strange type…
Hi Sakis! I'm from Greece as well :) After taking a look at your portfolio i would say there's a consistent problem with lighting in your scenes, and that is bringing them down by a lot. Fixing these issues would hugely improve your pieces with little effort.I will try to address them one by one so bear with me. Note that…
Read Below for the design process. Completed weapon: Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=693142573 The Storm Trooper, from the Star Wars movies are one of the most iconic characters introduced to sci-fi during the 70's and 80's. As such, I thought it a good idea to attempt to create an M4, a weapon…
They are both under-powered and overpriced for what they are, but that's the price you pay for those brands. Personally if I had to go mobile, I would go for the MSI gt75 titan 4k-247 ($4,400-ish) i9 9980HK (8 cores) 64gb RAM (up-to 128) 512 GB (2x) SSD (raid for speed) 1 TB HDD (platter drive for storage) The cooling in…
Originally I had just made it part of the texture, but our animator requested that it was separate geometry so he could have more control over different parts of the robot - for overlapping action, for jostling bits of the robot on impacts, and in case we wanted to show damage states where parts of the robot were hanging…
I was watching Indie Game The Movie on Netflix last night and there was this great quote at the end from Ed McMillen in an interview he gave right after Super Meat Boy had a huge first day. He was near tears, and I just thought the second paragraph especially sums up why a lot of people get into the creative fields: I…
Some more stuff! I've posted these elsewhere in other threads before, but I also like to keep 'em all together in my sketchbook :) Finished Blaster... I had a blast doing it. Ha. Haha.... High poly of the Thorndyke model from before. Almost done with the game res, he's currently being rigged: A concept sheet I did for an…
Looking pretty good. One thing that bugs me I think about the environments is there is nothing in the far distance. I feel like there should be some very distant tall buildings or mountains back there or something, especially in your splash damage art test. But more importantly, those environments just do not have enough…

DUDE 2 places you have to go: Shwartz for the smoked meat sandwich: La Banquise for Poutine: BTW if you're a foody (like me), theres 2 food network celebrity chefs that have amazing restaurants in this city: Restaurant Garde Manger: Owner Chef Chuch Hughes (BEAT BOBBY FLAY ON IRON CHEF LAST…
Please excuse my placeholders, but here is some foliage I've been working on. I would LOVE feedback on the lighting/ readability/ color tones of everything. I'm still learning UE4 so if you notice anything I'm doing horribly wrong, please let me know! The planters are just placeholder right now and I'll be doing a grunge…
