MoP: I've never understand your love to these strange machines which makes these scary noises but the modeling is nice! more closeups next time though! Zack Fowler: love it! only the tube looks to flat in two dimensions (roundness and depth) and these pillars that hold the tube are way to simple and boring looking for…
d1ver: That octagonal soda can/crisps tube in the center is really ruining the image because it appears so lowpoly when compared to the rest. I know that it's just because it's so close and it makes sense in-game, but it's really ruining this shot.
thanks man, yea it was super easy and super quick, - I made a nice tileable bark texture and then edited it into a bump map (keeping a full colour diffuse also). - Next I made a simple tube (must have smooth/even topology like any other base mesh for sculpting) in Maya and Uv'd it. - In zbrush I subdivided the tube til I…
WOW thanks this really helps. I will certainly go back and look into these. About the gas tube I couldn't really find any good ref shots of it so I kinda guessed (will go do some more research). Also Harry now that I look back at the front sight it is all types of wrong.
i used a displacement map i created in photoshop to make the rope. What i did was.. i uvmapped the tube, and then rotated the uvs 45º. so that when i scale them up i get the tiled effect of the rope. also i added a little bit of fur to the rope to simulate that strings that come off the rope :D
This page is on fire. Daniel: The pole on the far right looks like a cardboard tube and the AC needs some grime or dirt or something, other than that it looks really good...definitely a place to take a fire team... Neox: Outstanding as always...is this for Airborne? 3dLam: Pure win..I also didn't care for the gut shape as…
ZacD, here : http://born-robotic.net/stuff/kamdo_05back.jpg (haven't cleaned up the AO there yet), but they are as low as I want them to be and keep the bake and shape looking ok. I think it's important to keep small details like this with denser tricount, to give the overall model credibility (this model could actually…
No, I'm not working to any concept although I did look at some shotgun and pistol reference for basic sizing and mechanics, apart from that it's all being made on the fly. The idea I had in my mind before starting was a heavy duty sniper rifle with alternate firing modes, this was after seeing a you tube video on the war…
