good point Neox, some of the larger shapes were softened when I projected the human basemesh details onto the vampire mesh, I've been meaning to go back and accentuate some parts, and reduce some noise
More scales & pulled out some details that were starting to get hidden. Mostly trying to get the scales density to look right before I really finalize larger shapes & details. Some of the scales were abnormally large & next to large patches of bare skin, or followed illogical patterns, like large scales in highly…
Ya man, just on that sigma grindset and there's no stopping - Added scales- Added more scales- Added even more scales-Felt sorry for my tablet for hand drawing each individual scale - Did some face and butt reshaping Have a great week!
i feel like this is becoming incredibly noisy and harder to read. it kinda lacks mid and low level details of the prior versions that especially made it easier to read at a distance, i think you should go back a few levels and introducing some bigger shapes, clumping together details into interesting groups, rather than…
Last week I added the rest of the auxiliary meshes to the vampire race as well as revisited the highpoly for the Infested race. I still wasn't happy with the design, but after some tweaks I think I've settled on something that I think I'm happy with. I wanted the race to look more feral and vicious, something that the very…
It was a very unproductive week for me. I was visiting family, and I also got hit with a nasty flu which I'm still recovering from. As I only had a laptop at the time & didn't want to sculpt on the vampire mesh with only 14" of work space, I decided to do some blockouts of creatures in project nova. Have a great week!
Did some work on the vampires. Polypaint needs to be redone however. Wings are a decent amount of work, due to their surface volume. Basically take a character and add half. This workload will propagate to animation, clothing and armour development, but I think is worth it. Scales are a bit tedious but are actually pretty…
While the face has good subdiv, I want to go back and add some supporting geometry for the ears and neck in particular, and possibly arms and legs too. Nostrils and the smile line could use some geo rework as well. https://youtu.be/gS2l1T4tqj0 Have a great week!
Infested wings & mask, gave vampire race unique underwear, did more work on the lobster race underwear. Spent some time tinkering with the scale of the mechs earlier last week, I removed the stone capsule & am thinking of going back to more mechanical roots rather than magical. Have a great week!
Didn't get a lot done this week because Baldur's Gate 3 dropped, but I've been working on making the infested race more modular so players can mix and match fungi. Also added some placeholder 'hair' (Perithecia?). Made the back of the fleshy worm pod / ascocarp less noisy and more structured. Have a great week!
