From what I've heard, Megascans is going to be a seperate subscription, but with buying DDO you get something like 100 Megascans from the library to use with DDO right away. They are just bundled up PBR ready materials that include all the textures you'd ever need at very high resolutions.
Hey teddy, I know you guys got your hands full. I found another bug for ya tho :( dealing with the metalness maps. I was able to re-create it for every project, I have roughly 5 atm and even by starting a new project. For whatever reason 3DO does not like metalness maps. If you start a project with metalness turned off you…
can someone help me understand the difference of an albedo and the albedoM? i have been using the regular pbr calibration profile. I am now trying some things out in UE4 and when i input a base diffuse it wont show up under AlbedoM but it does under Albedo. (albedo is not a default map when using the ue4 preset) i cant…
Yep, I found after playing with it all day, That if you work without a metalness map as if it was 1.0 everything will function as normal. If you need the map for UE4, I found the best work around is to do the entire project without the map and when your finished, save it, then add the metalness map in thru the drop down…
@programmer23 - UE4 uses a slightly different method of PBR. dDO uses a gloss map where as UE4 uses a roughness map. They functionally are the same thing, however from my understanding the values are on the opposite spectrum. So a Black value for glossiness makes it duller/wider spec, where as a black value for roughness…
