There might be some guys that can make this is zbrush or mudbox. Like the dude that made Batman over at gameartisans for comicon. He used zbrush for his hardsurface modeling
@metalliandy & @Bek MATES! tnx for the help! now i Have a much clear idea about the aproach fo finer details like this in other projects :)! Please do you know if I can find some good tutorials abouth Hardsurface modeling here in Polycount forums? or any other place in the internet?! I need to learn this stuff...
That's awesome. Have you used it to make highpoly hardsurface to bake normals off of? What about more freeform style meshes, not just like angular gun parts for example? Do the polygonal meshses it export's make for good baking geo? If anyone has some cool unique workflows like this rather than the boring old Maya/Max…
Do people ever bake normals off of NURBS models? I figure that making the model in NURBs would take far longer than a typical sub-d hardsurface workflow, but if you got the NURBs already, and the RTT system supports them (not sure if it does), then why not? Otherwise, from what I have seen, triangulating the nurbs before…
Quick question guys. This is a pretty dumb question, but what modifier do you use in Max for Sub-D modelling? I've always used turbosmooth for hardsurface stuff, and it works great. But someone told me that turbosmooth wasn't great for mechanical modelling. I think he mentioned WSM Subdivide or something like that? If so,…
Hey guys. So I'm making this robot and having troubles with a certain part. It's frustrating and where I live no one knows how to hardsurface good (don't even mention using max at all). I've read many hardsurface guides, but because each situation seems too specific for my inexperienced mind, my head simply can't grasp how…
Hi there, I recently watched Grant Warwick's Hardsurface Tutorials and did some practice pieces. Right now I try to get details onto a bent surface but I am getting pretty uggly stretching along the holes, what destroyes the surface. (yeh, Viewcube...) I know of the approach to model it flat and then bend the pice but that…
