i don´t understand the conncetion between education and empathy. people are selfish by nature, no matter how educated they are. educated people are just better in hiding their selfishness.
Wow, that derailing for dummies page is rad. Biting but educational. I think EVERYONE is guilty of doing at least one of those sometimes. Thanks for sharing!
Even with you ignoring complex human psychology. Who is to say that empathy is not incompatible with selfishness? Edit: I should also explain the connection to education. If you cannot understand anothers situation, ones ability to emphasize is reduced.
Not at all. Not enough straight, white men care, and that's the problem. I mean, they probably care, but they just don't think about it. Don't think that we're all misogynists, we're just people doing things and not thinking and then the world burns. Notice I did say that educating men could help :)
But this is about education, not censorship. It's probably wrong to have something like this in your game: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He09JaBVZdE"]Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Letitia the Trash Lady - 1080p HD - YouTube[/ame] but nobody is going to censor you, if that's what you want to express, do it. Just expect…

It isnt so much that tolerating or ignoring mild sexism is a bad thing, persay, it's that this is a call to arms. It's worse than your realize, and it's your (and my) duty as a decent, respectable person to…
Seriously? That argument again? This is once again putting words in someones mouth simply so you can disagree. I, nor anyone else has ever stated anything close to this. In fact, quite the opposite. If you like listening and getting your information from biased individuals, by all means, keep doing just that. Just don't…
I really like RPS and their writing and sense when it comes to writing. I tend to relate to their writing and what it is that they are saying. Now... on this matter. I feel Education is key... how? I am not really sure, since we do have education... and having it in such a general way might not permit everyone to get what…
It's interesting. I'm inclined to both agree and disagree. One part of the issues stems from a lack of historical female authors; most of the 'classics' you are exposed to when you are younger will be written overwhelmingly by men for various reasons (education and cultural perception being the most important); and a large…
