Indeed - now imagine how bad it was before Gears shipped. I started working with UE3 around 2006, and I'm still in the habit of hitting CTRL+S every five minutes. That said, I'm relly looking forwards to seeing some new tools. A matinee replacement and new particle authoring tools would be awesome.
I'm sort of hopeful that since the Spike TV spot was aimed at gamers, that the 2014 date refers to not seeing games based on UE4 until 2014, whereas people would be developing with it much sooner. With the talk about highschoolers using the same tools etc... maybe there will be more of a push to to get the tools out there…
Hey Jordan, would meshes using world position offset count as dynamic? In my scene I'm using the foliage tool to scatter both grass using WPO, and static pebble meshes. Both exhibit poor lighting. I updated my thread on the UE4 Answer Hub with a test using a Skylight, I get even worse results.…
