You are displaying your texture with the UNLIT mode, which doesn't work like in UE3. The unlit mode in UE4 now also display the specular reflection on top of the diffuse. More info here : https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/5861/lit-vs-unlit-why-displaying-the-specular-channel.html
HOLY BALL NUGGETS!! I had severe eyegasm during that dynamicly lit particle systems room. I don't know why but this video had way more impact for me than others. Epic, y u no give it to us already! btw.. got to love the way they just had to put zillion particles on that gizmo that represents the player in the end :poly136:
wow... i went nuts looking at the dynamic lit particles, with smaller incandecent props lighting parts of it... hehe i chuckled at the lens flares. In editor in real time... i bet my computer will die if it tries to run that haha. I talked to a friend here of the code components and how much better of a pipeline, they can…
I'm having this weird issue with my lighting. I'm hoping I can get some insight on what is going on. In this picture, I have the directional light angle downward onto the table and floor. It' gives me a well lit room after the bake. I also have some low intensity spotlights in the windows, like in the Realistic Rendering…
I'm probably oversimplifying, but I *think* you could still do some stuff if you had: 1 - access to source (and thus could change the lighting model algorithm from phong to something custom) and then it would be for the entire scene/world/game/etc 2 - did something crazy that was still based off of the regular…
Is it just me... I think the Unreal 3 demo looks better. Sure, there's less (no) particles, no tesselation, but... I dunno. Maybe the U4 shots aren't lit in a certain way so they can show off the new features? Something is really throwing me off those screens. They look like pre-rendered FMV's from the 90's (but with more…
Here's a screenshot of my setup. I took it from a different angle in order to show all the lighting setup. Hope it helps, but let me know if you need more info on my setup. I don't think I changed anything too weird. In World Settings, I have Number Of Indirect Bounces set to 7. I also have my exposure in the Lit menu from…
