Hey guys, I stumbled on a handy trick today for doing post on renders. I haven't been happy with how my renders have been showing detail, as they've blurred a lot of it. I'm sure most of you know this high pass technique already, but I thought I'd share just in case.
Needless to say, a radius of three blows it out waaaay too much. Thought it was interesting to see the examples though. One other thing to keep in mind is that having an alpha for the model helps a ton, since this effect increases the contrast of ambient noise as well. Renders at top are cool, I feel they're a bit soft and ambient though and could use some specular to bring out some of the details.
