Not sure this will have a lot of application within Blender, but I'll link anyways. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fletcher/practical-python-learn-programming-for-the-real-wo?ref=category
You know what I'd love? If Blender had a shelf system like Maya. Should be possible right? It's just collecting a bunch of python into a button you can click. Might clutter up the interface some but would be a decent trade off if it was just one click for things like 'merge in centre'. Would this be possible through an…
"Every tooltip I saw had the python command right under it." if you like that, try right click and do view docs! Also, no one uses the gizmos in blender. If you want to axis constrain press R (rotate) then x y or z to lock to that axis and press again if you want to go in to local. You can then type in numbers at this…
Holy cow, you guys are awesome! That dope sheet info is very valuable. A few things I forgot to add to the Love list: * I can render directly to quicktime MOV. That's a MUST HAVE for an animator. It's been missing in 3ds Max since version 8! Not v2008... v8.0. * I can actually use both monitors. 3ds Max has had a long…
You need to add a subsurf modifier to view this but the "Apply Modifier To Editing Cage" isnt open to Python, AFAIK, so you can't set a hotkey for it. You can set up the other display options in the subsurf via hot keys though, so maybe that will be enough? You can add a subsurf modifier quickly and change its levels by…
I thought I'd give Blender a try. I've downloaded several times over the past few years, but I've never actually tried to do anything in it. Things I love:* SPACEBAR SEARCH!! Literally anything I looked for was a search away. For example, "What's the hotkey for Playback? Oh, Alt+A. Thank you Spacebar Search tool." * The UI…
when you script for pyhton, you can add your buttons to existing menus, like the mesh section of the self, create a new shelf, or even make a whole section in the tab of your choice in the sidebar on the right.

I didn't animate the fingers and hair yet. This animation took about 3 hours. It would have been about 30 minutes in familiar software like 3ds Max.…
