Best movie of the year so far. Definitely Whedons best ever work (and I'm a big cabin in the woods/firefly fan). Who was that after the credits? Not familiar with Marvel lore that much.
yeah man, and there were several parts of the fight when all i could think about was marvel vs capcom combo moves lol. Ironman's beam + Cap's shield = fucking WIN.
Apparently you haven't seen Firefly - otherwise you would have known that already ;) Oh and Marvel is already warming up to a third Hulk movie based on audience reactions. It must be done.
I thought it was absolutely brilliant! Definitely one of the best marvel films to date because it sure as hell doesn't take itself so seriously! Great jokes, some serious boner inducing VFX and just overal badassery. Totally recommended! Also, Joss Whedon is god.
AMC theaters are doing that as well. http://www.amctheatres.com/movie-news/2012/03/amc-theatres-presents-the-ultimate-marvel-marathon But I'd rather just watch those movies at home over the course of a week or something, that way I won't be tired when it comes time to watch the avengers.
Spiderman is an Avenger, no? But Sony Picture Imageworks own all rights to Spidey showing up in movies and won't sell him back to Marvel, who distribute the rest of their motion picture content themselves. Hence no Spiderman. I feel the movie was stronger without him, would have overpowered the movie.
if... no wait, when they do make a sequal, i wonder which other marvel heroes/villains will enter the fray. personally i'd love to see cameo appearances from Wolverine or Spiderman... maybe that's too cheesy, i don't know. i'm just interested in how they'll expand the team/s.
Just saw it last night and while I very much enjoyed it, it still left me with the same almost there feeling that the other Marvel movies had. Hulk was definitely the high point of the film and Ruffalo really got the part right. Excellent Film Crit Hulk piece on just why here. It'll be interesting to see what the do next…
