Hi guys, I came across a plugin for 3DS max that unwraps your mesh according to its UVs, so your mesh is unwrapped to a flat plane based on its UVS, Does anyone know if anything exists for Maya? Greatly appreciate your help
I think you misunderstood dpaynter26. I think he is asking for a way to flatten your actual model to look like the UV's. Try this: http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/animation/c/flatten-model-by-uv
have you looked through all the options for unwrapping in maya? you dont have to auto unwrap in fact i most of the time use the planar myself i just change the axis on which it uvs
