Personally, I like 1 and 3. Reasons? 1 looks intentionally tinted... to match your scene. 3 Looks like the color that you would usually see in anamorphic flares in film (real or not real). 2 looks underexposed. Nice !
Spitfire, cables can be a little tricky but I did as follows using 3D Studio Max: 1. Created a spline, and made the shape of the cable that I wanted. 2.
