If the goal behind the tech is to replace or in some degree even be better than polygonal tech or previous existing voxel tech, but that doesn't stop the government from believing it will be profitable. Money has only gone in, not out from unlimited detail, and that's since 2003.
Well I think mixing in voxel tech with polygon tech could be a good way to solve destructibility issues. But as a full game engine for a AAA title? Not for a while.
That's pretty cool. Use it to represent tumors, scar tissue, or breast implants. Use it to see irregular heartbeats etc. Its cool tech that would take many years and bajillions of dollars to turn into game-ready tech.
Notch and Carmack understand the tech, I understand the tech. Everyone arguing with you understands the tech better than you. The claims are bullshit without actual evidence and NONE has been shown that wasn't possible 10 years ago. You just keep spewing out the same crap that they've said, because what they say is the…
Even if polygon meshes were instanced to be as big as their demonstration map, it would never run even if the polygons were instanced. I suggest doing more research into the tech. Seems too many of you are basing your statements on personal biases and continue to ignore my posts explaining how this tech is possible.
