   I live by mechanical pencils, but my wife did gift me a bunch of those branch pencils which are too awesome to not use.

   I mainly use 2b 0.9 mechanical if just rough sketching But for more detailed stuff that has shading and etc I use regular pencils and graphite sticks

   I've been getting used to mechanical, but if I can I use regular pencils, mainly the F and HB and occasionally the 2H. I sharpen with an exacto knife and smooth out the edges with sandpaper.. old school!

   If I'm sketching, I prefer a soft traditional pencil. But for most things I use a mechanical pen.

   Mechanical, cause its all ive ever grew up on. Sketchbook is mechanical or pen. Art work with the big sheats of paper, i use the graphite and regular pencils.

   Shading = soft 6b graphite and/or charcoal pen Linework/Sketching = mechanical 2b
