Just a note for anyone running a 64 bit version of Windows (particularly Win7), go to the Java web site with the 64 bit version of IE and grab the 64 bit version of Java. I don't know the technical aspects of it, but doing that has made the game run better through multiple revisions.
Yeah, I updated to 64-bit - doesn't help though as I'm PC'er not a Mac'er. :( This was the link I tried sending the other day- dunno if it helps? http://www.macfanatic.net/blog/2009/03/09/enable-java-se-6-on-64-bit-leopard/
You can get HD texture packs already; http://minecraftworld.wordpress.com/2011/03/15/lbs-photo-realistic-minecraft-hd-texture-pack-64-x-64-129-x-128-256-x-256/ If it runs that badly id probably think about scaling it down to 64x64 as it'd be better if more people could use it. Personally i've not tried out a HD…
Update Java - it might help - I updated recently to 64-bit to allow more memory usage. Meanwhile here's a view of the nether goings on with the server : [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiGJVdpI2YU"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/ame] Not sure where the black borders came from.
may I suggest a Terrafirmacraft server/shard. Its tough, but makes hunting ore a lot of fun. o and the chisel thing (lets you turn a single block into 64 minis you can carve on), much art potential, though the lighting sucks so think in terms of silhouettes.
I see two issues. First, it appears that you're downloading the direwolf20 pack, when you should be using Monster. Second, it said you're out of memory. Make sure you have 64 bit java installed, and give FTB at least 4GB of memory in the settings tab in the launcher.
I had a wander up there the other day, very nice! would love to see more of this kind of thing going on- just a shame it's so out of the way from the base town where I'm at or I'd help out with the buildings. Btw I grabbed 64 arrows but left some sticks and I think feathers in return :)
