I had an idea for a way to create wavy sand. Heres where I'm starting. It's pretty terrible but it'll do for this example. I'm assuming that you don't know anything so I don't leave anything out. Sorry if some of this is stuff you already know. What we're going to do is do some UV distortion to introduce some eddies into…
wow, Great use of uv offsetting! You could go even further and multiply your noise scale by a vertex color channel, then you could actually go into mesh paint mode and paint the ripples in there however you wanted. It would be a great way to break up the tiling of the material!
Nice stuff!... Just wondering is that first image the camera view, I don't think too much of the composition, the mountains in the background are clashing with the shape of the ship, maybe once it has a few more props it will come together. I also don't see the colours working together, I don't think it's a problem with…
Coming along great man, the wood can be a little more worn out due to the fact its in the sand, probably gotten beaten around a bit, for some reason I feel its too dark... could be just me! Here's some examples of worn wood or color that is mixed with sand: You don't have to listen to me :p but just giving ideas, looks…
Wow! That sand looks amazing! And thank for you all of the detail you put in, it's always nice to know what nodes do what xD I hope I'm not asking for too much, but how did you go about making your initial normal map and what's your light setup? Because that already looked better than what I had done already, also I know…
I agree with what Mark said above. Thoughts, why does the back of the sub look like its being cut off? it would be cool to see the upper rudder sticking out of the sand. I know you cant see it in the concept, but what if you want another angle or the player goes over there? Also Think about the direction of the wind and…
The sand blending is looking great! Crits: 1) The mountains in the back should be more detailed and should help frame the composition of the shots. 2) Notice these foreground framing objects, these really help with composition, and they're so simple... 3) Notice the action line from the roof drops your eye right on a…
No problem. For the lighting its just a combination of an orange light at intensity 1 and a blue light at intensity 0.25. I use those cos they make your scenes look richer. For the sand waves I was sloppy but if you're more careful you'll end up with a much much better result. First, draw smae lines that look like sand…
