Nice progress! How did you go about texturing the large arched bridges? You used a tiling brick texture on the bridge. Is the trim around the arches a separate textured model? Or does the bridge use two separate texture sheets? One for the trim and one for the tiling brick? Or is the bridge made up of modular pieces? Sorry…
You've out-classed far cry 2 by miles mate, don't worry about it :D the tall bridge on the left side of image valley_73 really looks out of place now. I don't think a Roman aqueduct style would fix it much as the bridge is much higher than its length.
the bridge pillars are ofc too high. maybe a twisting rock bridge up and down to the hill would look better. overall i think some parts of the world look too epic like the mult-tiered waterfall there. don't get me wrong it looks nice but it's just a bit over the top and each of the splash rocks where the water lands and…
Looks great, glad you went back to the more warmer lighting. Only crit I have is those bridge arches, they feel a bit crowded, maybe make 'em wider to open up the views more.
Looks really great, tiling looks a little weird on the last shot one the bridge though I assume thats just the blockoutyness at this stage. Looking at your portfolio and this you seem to have quite a thing for old stone fortifications :)
so i found something i kinda dont like. the brick size for the walls of the castle seem to not match the size of the bricks on the bridges. i dont know if that was intentional but i think it may be aesthetically better for them to be the same size yeah?
Computron: It can be made in production I guess if you need very specific mountain top for example. It could have used tiling textures and blends if it was somewhat in UDK and I could blend more than two textures. And yes, the trees are mine, but need refining, as they are quite low poly/blocky atm. re.wind: Thanks for the…
Thanks, to be honest with you I have some ideas about negative space, but none of them seem strong enough. One would be to show some opposite mountain chain in the background. I think I can achieve that with a custom skydome maybe. synergy11: three tiling textures (4 with the older brick texture but it shares the same…
Sugestion for your brick bridges, or something like this, or even like this. for soemthing a bit more modern, we have this, but constructionally its no different from the designs the romans mastered millenia before. OF course there are more vertically challenging stone viaducts, but the length:height ratio is much alrger…
Zipfinator: Thanks man, yes it's uniquely unwrapped. Its texture is currently 2048 but it could end being 1024 with some dof. The place where it meet the terrain wont be seen by the player that much but I can cover it up later on if I want a shot there. =) Computron: Well, long story short it's a plane displaced and UV…
