Seems like a nice way of making unique rocks, but isn't it more beneficial to make a modular set of rocks and be able to place them wherever you like, rather than hand-crafting each individual cliff? i know this is a portfolio piece though, so i guess you can do things differently :D
Nice progress! How did you go about texturing the large arched bridges? You used a tiling brick texture on the bridge. Is the trim around the arches a separate textured model? Or does the bridge use two separate texture sheets? One for the trim and one for the tiling brick? Or is the bridge made up of modular pieces? Sorry…
This is so impressive, you obviously love what you do and it shows. You should be proud of yourself :) I do have a question though and it stems from my naivity and not from your work but is there any chance you could post any kind of break down on modular pieces and tiling textures? I'm desperately trying to teach myself…
confuuuseed.... so there's terrain and a rock static mesh sticking out? If so can we see the static mesh as it blends in beautifully. quick question, how does lighting work in CE3, don't mean to hijack the thread, do you need to have lightmaps for everything? i'd love to see how you tackle modularity a bit more in depth,…

Been thinking my portfolio was lacking some CE3 environment and I wanted to play with the editor at home for a while. :) SO, here it is, project reboot, I'm going for a more orient styled castle rather that the classic european stones. I…

When I started the project I really wanted something colorful, I guess the result I had till now was the effect of not sticking…
Thanks guys, that's a lot of comments, I'll try my best to answer them. Oniram: Almost, the dirt one is currently 100% photosourced.:poly121: mkandersson: with cry-engine you can basically choose any rule for you units. At work we stick with centimeters and I personnally work with a grid snap of 1 meter. KazeoHin: yeah…
Thank you very much re.wind! This is really helpful. I agree with most of what you said, and will certainly change my bridges to make them way more interesting. Great feedback. Answering some of the other's questions, synergy11: yes for those big objects I work in max in world space to have an accurate version of the…
