Looks like a good fish plate, as far as fish plates go! But 1024 is overkill for such a small prop (presuming it is a small prop). If it was going in a game, 256 would probably be big enough for this. Maybe a 512.
@ Revender, wow that's awesome for a one day project o.o Could you post a bigger picture of just the fish, from what I'm seeing it looks like a pretty awesome design!
I think 1024 is fine for the fish plate. Especially for a portfolio piece. I can see that being like an artifact or something in a Drake's game or a Resident Evil. One that you can zoom in, rotate around etc.
ErichWK - Nice dude! That design carlo did is super-awesome, as is most of his stuff. I've also got a file on here somewhere of a blockout i started of it a while ago. Seeing yours is making me want to fish it out and work on it :D
Looks nasty Josh :) just a personal note from someone who had to make a ton of fish for his last game, always use photo ref over illustrated, I kow this guy isn't around anymore but his nasty-ass skull is.

aajohnny : If you want this to look like a trap room, my feeling is that it should look impossible to cross or precarious. Right now the ledges look like you could just walk across to the gong. So perhaps slanting them down into the water. Now people can walk on a slanted surface, so add carved heads with open mouths along…
