   Anyone know if there's a 10 day trial or similar out for this? I'm a big MMO and FF fan and always wanted to check out FFXI but every time I tried to sign up it took about a decade and a half to download the client. Would like to check it out, despite the negative reviews.

   Funny thing about some trailers is they focus too much on cinematic awe and not really showing off core mechanics or gameplay.    My biggest problem with FFXIV was the insanely boring crafting. In order to get any good weapon you had to do hours and hours of crafting. Also the AH was a pain in the ass.
