Thats wickedly better dude! Looks far more thought out in terms of structure. Dont forget to show that the pole is stuck in the concrete too like you did with the poles in the metal. Even if its just a water stain dripping down the concrete were the pole meets, it still grounds it in.
Some good points all around, also for me it looks stuck together, no accumulation of dirt, not much AO, stains where rusty water has pooled on the concrete blocks, etc. etc. The parts look like they have just been assembled together after getting weathered and worn seperately. Good luck next time!
First of all I would say you have wasted alot of texturespace on the tires (front and back). So I would have removed the tires altogether. Your concrete stuff looks ok, I would have gone for a bigger pile of those with larger metal spikes jammed into that pile. As a final note I would definitely added some AO to the…
To give you some more texture space to up the resolution* I would have deleted one side of the wheel and just copied the other side. * I would reduce the tire thread to 1/4 of its size and just tile the geometry over the texture. * I looks like you modeled and textured the underside of the concrete block ? I would have…
It does look alot better in Marmoset. I can actually see the normal and spec maps at work. Just out of curiosity.. How did you present the model to the recruiters? The texture doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it did previously. The tires and the concrete blocks are pretty good. The axel could probably be a bit more…
Thanks for the help, @zacd- taped on spikes noted, And @disanski- I agree with the rust everywhere bit. It seem that I need to focus more on real life :) more room for the eyes to rest too... @tanka- I just handed off a upk, no real presentation. and now that I look at it, the metal was just a bunch of black and white…
For starters you could have laid out that UV layout more efficiently and have gotten alot more resolution out of it. The tires show have been mirrored unless you planned on making some sort of unique detail on one of the tires. Your high poly mes on your concrete blocks have obvious flaws in the mesh which translated into…
I think you got some great feedback here already, so really don't have much to add. But the main issues I'd see is how the stuff used for this barrier probably has been weathered for some time. The metal plates are better now, I like the color better. The tires look like they are a bit weathered on the sides but the tread…
