Hallo, last version of VW doesn't start on my WinXP Pro SP3. Appears the splash screen and load the exe but no interface. Is only a problem of mine? Thanks Achille
Sorry out of topic, have a look at this, maybe an eye opener for you Kun in term of interface and layout :D http://www.isotropix.com/ [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqlfL0mg-uE&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
No the version was 15 feb. But the problem is old, like i told in other posts. The program interface sometimes doesn't load and sometimes does. It's a big mistery. Now, for example i tried and it starts. Bye Achille.
I agree (again) wholeheartedly with Pior's post suggesting you go back to basics on interface and hotkeys. I disagree with having the hotkey editor pop up when you want to change the shortcut, though. Silo's behaviour with the addition of pressing (for instance) END to alter the shortcut key is much nicer!
just download a trial of Silo, it has been referred to here many times and to many other developers as well. Just the way how you can customize shortcuts and how their sticky keys work is just heaven. http://www.nevercenter.com/silo/ Modo is also a good inspiration for some Interface and interaction design.
Istonia: thanks for the new cut tool function! the ui is just a mockup, I'm organising things for myself. The smart-tips wouldn't show at the same time as the tool information, that's just o visualise it for myself. Are you saying any type of graphical overhaul (like a bitmap based interface) would be hard to implement?
Totally agree with you guys. Although I don't use Modo, one of the big plusses I saw when I looked at it was that you could really reconfigure the interface. I believe Silo has this ability too, right? People like the ability to make the interface look the way they want. The other big thing for me is - consistant tools. I…
Sebazone I really like the color scheme and the structure.. kinda like QT in maya. I always got an impression from friends that this software looks old and not flexible, especially when we resize the window. I believe a good interface and look will give good first impression on the software itself. I would love to see VW…
