It looks nice, but I can do what that does with the shrinkwrap modifier. Create a cylinder>remove caps>add SW modifier>Set to nearest surface point>Position loops at each end of limb>Add loop cuts>Adjust Loops>Apply Modifier As long as you place your start and end loop on the limb before turning on the modifier in edit…
Alignment tools are something I really miss that I used in Max. In the editor, select an edge, loop select, ring select, then hit align and the entire island is straight. In blender I have to go loop by loop.
@musashidan What I mean is I believe originally @Justo was looking for a hotkey that would increase/decrease the number of selected loops/rings. So strictly speaking there is a "limitation" of the Ctrl+Shift +/- hotkeys in that instead of selecting the next loop/ring, it only selects a single edge from said loop/ring.…
As the simplest example, go to the base cube primitive, and try selecting an edge loop. It won't do anything. In Modo, and I think Maya if I recall correctly, it'll loop around one of the faces. There are a lot of fringe situations where it will just fail to detect a loop.
Maya doesn't select an edge loop that goes past a pole on a cube either. IMO Blender does it right and Modo does it wrong. Say I want to select the edge loop that includes this edge: What makes this selection: any more correct than this one?: Terminating edge loops at poles even when there's just one edge involved makes…
When using "loop cut" tool, how to make the next loop-cut with the same value as earlier? eg. using Loop-cut on a Plane. I make a cut with value 0.8 (near the left side). Then I want to make a loop-cut with the same value 0.8, towards the right side of the Plane. Can this be done without having to enter the value 0.8…
It comes with ReBevel as second addon called "Loop Ring Select". ReBevel depend depends a lot on edge rings selection so I made LR Select - to quickly grow/shrink ring/loops.
If you can set two vertex loops at each end of a limb and bridge them before adding the shrink wrap, the loop cut will do the job just a fast. Edge slide and rotate permits accurate placement the of loops. It took me merely a minute to set up and execute. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a nice tool, but the same result…
