Hi!, I’m
currently jumping to blender and I have some (or a lot of) gaps in my knowledge of blender so
maybe this is something stupid. In blender I
can use G or the move tool with gizmo. If I use the G I need to constraint via
short cut the axis/plane or work on screen space. With gizmo I must select the
vertex and use the…
New question (sorry!). In that same FBX I imported I can see an image in the reflections of materials. This must be an environment map defined somewhere obviously, but I cannot find the location where this is actually loaded in. An environment map can be imported in the 'World Properties' -> Color slot, but no map is…
Is there some way to define a procedurally generated weight map for the displace modifier? I can use a vertex group to define which vertices the displace modifier actually affects. It either affects a vertex in that group with 100%, or it doesn't effect it at all if the vertex isn't in the group. But what if I need to…
Source code. They have now the crazy system that they recolor the monochrome icons by code afterwards. Search for the UIIcons.h file. There they are all defined. The different coloring is defined in line 25 to 50. The DEF_ICON_ ... . And every icon then has something like DEF_ICON in front of it. That's the white ones.…
I've been developing a system of quickly modelling and rigging fingers in Blender by modelling a single base finger, then using Array and Mesh Deform modifiers to flexibly adjust them into the different sizes and proportions. As well as generating the finger meshes, this would also have the advantage of copying along…
@kio : Install works flawlessly now, and the tool itself is great so far ;) Only feedback I'd have would be : • Maybe adding an option (in the form of a check box either in the side panel itself or in the addon install panel) to select between two display modes : the current/default one (where the visual representation of…
I have been working on smoothing algorithms for meshes in blender. You can define sharp edges as rails that will be used by verts to slide on. Volume is more or less preserved.
@wilson66 in the export setting in substance you can define the name of your exported item. If you delete the suggested name you should get the one you are looking fr.
As for the everything nodes UX, have a look at the Gizmos section. This basically defines user input on the model at the current node in the node tree, which would allow for manipulating generated geometry at that step.
I don't get it. I need Blender to export the correct mesh names I have actually defined, not make up some new ones that make the exported file unusable in Painter.
