@myclay thanks! However, the outliner can only display around 20 lines of objects on my screen. It looks like I have to go B > hi light 20 lights, scroll down > B > hi light more lights > scroll down > over and over a few times to get all the lights. Is there a faster way than this?
I want to see better examples of this, particularly with non-square extrusions and rounded geometry, it does seem promising! https://twitter.com/vitos1k/status/1189894352098779138?s=20
They need to work on the OBJ importer, this is not usable as is. Blender needs almost 10 minutes (!) to import a 250 MB OBJ file, whereas Modo imports the same file in less than 20 seconds.
Decent rundown of some new tools. http://gamefromscratch.com/post/2012/04/20/Blender-BMesh-in-action%E2%80%A6-what%E2%80%99s-so-special-about-ngons-anyways.aspx
imho it depends on you graphics card as far as i know there are models that run perfectly fine, i´ve seen people work on models with more than 20million triangles without problems http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT_hkSbK8Iw#t=20
