Yea, I think thats a throwback from the ancient mesh code which is 15 yrs old or something silly. BMesh will fix that though...when it gets finished that is :P
Last weekend I made my switch to 2.8, but I had to tweak it... with 2.79 shortcuts + some other settings adjusted in preferences). Just for fun, this is what greets me every time I open 2.8. Now I'm happy, and every time I open 2.79, it starts to feel more and more ancient, lol.
