@Pjanssen: Use the userScripts folder instead of the scripts folder. you can access that folder in Maxscript using:pathConfig.GetDir #userScripts it behaves the same as the scripts folder but was added after Microsoft asked devs to avoid admin privileges and use the user folders for that kind of stuff. There are other user…
Pjanssen, It seems that updating the Outlliner uninstalls the Workflow tools. Another feature I would like to see is an option to install to the 3D Max folder instead of the UserScript folders. At work we work on several projects, and each project re-assigns the UserScript/Macro/Startup folders. I understand if it's not…
No changes to the UI in that session. It happens each time I install it. I installed it on 2 different machines and the same thing happened. Both machines had the script previously installed and I opted to download/update after the prompt came up that there was an updated version. If it helps I can uninstall it and try…
I uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch and made sure the files and preferences where gone. Then I grabbed a fresh download from your site and I noticed that it didn't totally reset the toolbar UI it just added some icons I had previously moved to another toolbar and hidden, most notably some of the snaps options. But…
So any word on Outliner 3.0? And is there any chance of getting support for drag-dropping layers in folders or changing the hierarchy? Draging over visibility/freeze icons to turn them on/off for multiple objects at once would be nice too.
Something I forgot to mention about the last release, 2.0.8, is that I've also included a little tool to clean up the layer warnings in pre-2.0.8 scenes. You'll find it under Customize -> Customize User Interface -> [Category] Outliner. It can either clean up the currently opened scene, or do a batch clean up on a specific…
Yeah if you could try that (you can keep the prefs), just to make sure that produces the same result, that would be great. That is expected, although I guess I'll change that to have them hidden by default, on second thoughts. The installer actually uses a maxscript function (cui.getConfigFile()) to get the current UI…
Following the suggestion from renderhjs, I've updated the installer (v2.0.3). All script files are now copied to the userscript folders, so you will no longer need admin rights to install the Outliner. Uninstalling versions prior to 2.0.3 will still require administrator rights, but after this is done, it should no longer…
Autodesk just released SP3 for 3dsmax2014 and it causes a problem with outliner. Outliner throws up a message about updating nested folders and then max dies. If you uninstall outliner the files load fine. For me that's not really an option I can't stand to lose outliner. If you're on SP2, max and outliner get along fine.…
