http://techcrunch.com/2010/04/10/steve-jobs-responds-to-iphone-sdk-complaints-intermediate-layers-produce-sub-standard-apps/ Sure, Steve. All those fart apps and other bullshit apps flooding the store are clearly highwater-mark examples of quality apps. Prick.
Rumble: Are you sure that's not part of what Apple's blocking now with iPhone OS4? From what Apple's announced, it looks like Unity apps won't be allowed on the app store anymore, either.
I haven't read all the replies, so this may have been mentioned already but one big issue with this has nothing to do with being able to browse flash website... CS5 would have allowed flash devs to compile their flash app into an iphone app. Now apple is saying that they can't even do that.
Totally agree. Why MS have such a horrendous rep, and are seen as pure evil etc, and Apple are generally seen in a far less negative light is frankly bizarre. Also, pior is obviously right in why apple doesn't want flash on their movile devices. That would open the door to an interwebs full of ad based games, apps etc,…
You mean like using your index finger to trace around as the mouse and use a second finger to click? That's one possible option. The problems there are that it would require a different method of interacting with the iPhone/iPad than Apple intended, and they're not going to embrace anything that makes the experience more…
My thoughts exactly. Even if some Flash apps didn't work, or the functionality was compromised in some way, it would still be better than nothing, and there are MANY that would work perfectly. Plus you best believe Flash devs would subsequently take into account iPhone/iPad viewers, myself included, and offer a different…
Snemmy I dont think the point would be to have flash apps downloaded from the app store... The way i see it is, if ipod/pads/phones allowed flash, the only thing one would have to do is bookmark the webpages were the flash games are located and just go there to play from the browser (ad based business model). That would…
http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/08/apples-iphone-lockdown-apps-must-be-written-in-one-of-three-la/ Apple likes throwing its weight around, and getting into disputes with other companies. No flash on iPad No more google searches built into iphone, they apparently would rather use bing. I agree that adobe probably needs to…
"oh yeah just login with your itunes password and feel free to download it" ^ LOL! uhhh yeah, i want to try before i buy, not buy to try. The best part is that you would be buying them the app. By doing so also opening yourself up to having people use your account to buy more stuff at the store. WIN! I want a higher res…
Pior covered this below - YouTube on the iPhone is a custom app, built at Apple's request, and it doesn't use Flash. Hulu could likely make an app for that as well and give it away free in the App Store, but that doesn't fix the issue of the Flash player on Hulu.com not working (and it again creates more work for the Hulu…
