Marine - thanks for that link, I ran through the first 5 tutorials last night and I can finally appreciate the game. The tileset linked in that tutorial was also a big help to understand the game more than the ascii, and the iso view was neat, though largely useless. i am in my 4th try playing this game, and I think it is starting to click a bit! the tutorial is massively helpful! :) I am strangely excited. -

I read through a couple tutorials before starting to play the game again a few months ago. Still took a few hours of play to learn the basics. Haven't had a fortress get over 20 or so dwarves and survive though.
