Well, I thought that rock face/panel worked out nicely, I understood it was a WIP/test, and it was a good start. Sculpting, texturing, tiling, sort of related links: http://www.brameulaers.com/tutorials/generic_wall_tutorial/generic_wall_tutorial.html…
Hi adam. New here on Polycount and only been modelling for about 4 month now. Really love your forest and foliage and your scene looks great! I have looked for tutorial on how to make these type of meshes but never found any good ones. Care to make or share a good tutorial on the subject? Would make my day! :)
The process I used to get my spline shape was different than yours but that's arbitrary. Your tutorial is pretty well 'it' for how I made my chain-link fence. Thank you for writing that up!
You've been working on this for 3 months Mr. Brommell. You NEED to wrap this up so we can make a condensed tutorial and list it for all the world to see! This is amazing stuff and wealth of knowledge to learn from here! Kudos!
Skillmister, its called height fog in UT3, check here for a bit of a tutorial and some extra information. Be sure to check the rest of the site to. Lots of useful information. EDIT: Bit more information about height fog here also. :)
thanks so much for including the tutorials you found for UDK materials. I too am eager to learn material blending and building techniques. I'll be watching this project closely, can't wait to see progress. Great job on your organization skills.
Wow, that looks amazing. I'm still pretty new to environments, and I don't even know where to start to make the large rock faces like you have there. I've looked up tutorials and such, but most only show how to make rocks and such. Did you initially sculp those in zbrush/mudbox? Or is it 100% done in max?
I made some chain link fence pieces like that a while ago, the idea is to make part of the chain that you can just duplicate over and over to make the whole fence. Its basically one cylinder that bends forward then down in a V then bends back and goes up, I could whip up a quick image tutorial.
