exactly, if you count the rings in the weels there would be 8 rings on each cannon, there will be 16 cannons instanced on the ship, that would be 128 rings and if each ring would have 50 poly's or so, it would already be ~6000 poly's for such small details.
working on this galleon (both interior and exterior), really need to finish it soon, it's still empty but the cannons and all other props will be added.
I think if you pulled the trigger / guard back to get rid of that space between the guard and the grip, it would be more inline with what people expect to see...other than that, it looks like a cannon...good stuff.
Yeah, now they have banshees that complete rip ground units to shreds more than any SC 1 unit (besides BC's Y cannon (and have cloak)), and vikings which are great AA vs everything but muta.
Well, even though he put it slightly in perspective, if you look at 0:35 of the video, he puts it to a ruler. It measures the length of the cannon and illustrates the proportions between the different sections of it. Try using that as a ref rather than the image you put there.
Racer: Thats damn hot, smaller grain looks better but it all seems a bit too blue.. that might be my monitor though or your scenes light, still damn hot. Rens: Thats awesome, better pose/light should help immensly, as would a fuel rod cannon :D
