Hell, no. I love Army of Darkness. But I'd also be the first to admit that it's plot and script are awful and cheesy. Just because Gears has an action-film standard plot in an action-film standard game doesn't make it a good plot, merely a fitting one.
The plot's no better than Doom's or Quake's. And the actual writing is pretty awful. GoW2 moreso than its predecessor thanks to the whole "Dom's wife" subplot, which was especially cringeworthy.
