that looks sick awesome, ParoXum. i'd really like to see how you did the branches textures without visible borders :D care to share some textures/uv's ?
Thanks Sandro! Yeah it is meant to be a very slight change in the background to border - sorry Ishould have been clearer. Right one it is then - now time to calibrate my monitor so they both read the same!
its a test for me too, but so far i always had trouble with hanging fabrics that are very thin and modelled with a thickness, if needed and my plan with meshextraction doesn't work, well i don'tgive a shit and add the border in the normalmap :P
Well, darkest parts of background plate are lighter than black border on both images. If it's slight difference you're going for then I'd say right image has correct contrast :) Btw, have you tried "auto contrast" in photoshop? Sometimes it produces bizzare results but it's often useful.

They look identical if I have the left side on my first monitor and the right on my second but the contrasts look off if I swap them round or put them both on the same monitor. As an example the dark background on the left (below the light rays and…
lol, sorry Neox. Just trying to break up the "CG" look a little. Mudbox renders border edges a bit harshly and without something to counterbalance it the effect is somewhat displeasing. But there's a lot of settings I haven't experimented with so hopefully as I get more familiar with the application I can find a better…
So, yeah, I feel bad posting this around some of the great stuff here, but I just wanted some opinions before I go much further on the model. There's still alot of cleanup and details (hair, bands on body) to go, but if there's anything that you guys see that I should change please let me know. The biggest reason im doing…
Maybe try doing a Swedish Biological warfare lab? Maybe French? Maybe it's in Jibouti? You are trying to make something that is not cliche, but by using yet another abandoned Soviet biological warfare lab with compulsory mutants and dead bodies you are being very cliche. It's a pet peeve, I'm tired of these abandoned labs…
