yeah the higher polycount is sometimes the only way to get stuff working. i gotta thank Perna and some of the other polycounters for instilling that in my head since I was soooo worried about polycount even when im in high res mode.
@guenna, Bek is correct. You could model all of this stuff, but it would take much longer and the result would be the same and use much more geometry. For something like this, I would almost always use floating geo. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2057427/Polycount/HP_Pill_Bottle.zip @reinihetvosje, I can't show the splines…
A screw. Don't mind the material, I was testing one Mental Ray material someone posted here in polycount. It took me two tries to get it to look alright-ish.
Uhm.. this is the first time I see that post, but the one I saw where I learned how to make circle holes in meshes was pretty similar and I saw it here in polycount. Maybe it was you?
..and for anyone else who is bad at searching the polycount wiki, here is the info on floaters: http://wiki.polycount.com/AmbientOcclusionMap#Floating_Mesh_Problem Google search helped me find it just now. Either way, thanks for your help guys!
Hello good guys polycounters ;) My question is How u model dem shapes? :) Is there any quick method to do this kind of "wrapping". I would rather model this in Max and then sculpt it a bit than just sculpt it from base.
